Breckin + Josh // Rustic Autumn Forest Elopement
HI!
If you don’t know Breckin + Josh…you’re missing out on knowing the warmest, most genuine people on the planet. Truly. I cannot imagine a couple more radiant + generous than these two, and their wedding day was every bit as gorgeous as they deserved.
In a beautiful sprawling home on the water, Breckin got ready with her sisters, mom, and friend (the honorable reverend of their ceremony, complete with an official badge + internet certification). The afternoon was full of jitters and tears and giggles, nieces and nephews running amok. Watching her step into her dress and meet her groom, bathed in the brightest light, absolutely stunned me. Their ceremony took place in a small clearing in the woods with the sun streaming through leggy trees and the sweetest gathering of their friends + families, and perfect words and vows and laughs were exchanged. We all gathered back in the house overlooking the autumn leaves and ate pizza while listening to heartfelt speeches and collectively swooning over the beauty of the day before going out to the yard to watch Breckin + Josh share their first dance under the stars. I wish I had the words to fully explain how much this day filled my heart - it was simply the perfect day for the perfect couple. I’ll leave you with a poem from Andrea Gibson that was read during their ceremony:
“Lately I’ve been thinking about who I want to love, and how I want to love, and why I want to love the way I want to love, and what I need to learn to love that way, and who I need to become to become the kind of love I want to be…….and when I break it all down, when I whittle it into a single breath, it essentially comes out like this: Before I die, I want to be somebody’s favorite hiding place, the place they can put everything they know they need to survive, every secret, every solitude, every nervous prayer, and be absolutely certain I will keep it safe. I will keep it safe.”
